Matrox Extio - Remote Multi-Display System

£1,645 is a bit pricey for me and I don't really need multiple monitors here, but for those running true recording studios where the PC is in a machine room, this seems really useful.

That is way extreme.

I'm working w/ a guy using Nuendo and 2 x LCD's currently. Scope and Nuendo on one screen, and Avid on the other. It seems a real life saver for the workflow when using multiple apps, and LCD's.

No!

J/k. Actually I abandoned dual displays a few years ago for a single display per PC, and 3 pc's at my work area. :P

tha matrox qid card (which is/was available for PEG, AGP and PCI) should do the trick, too. and it's much cheaper. well, the machine has to remain locally, but that should be sufficient for most people.
the last used ones went for less than 200 bucks (ehm, EUR :) ) on the bay...
and four displays isn't that bad...

there are less expensive solutions using cat5 cables, but that looks very slick.
