cannot start sdk

after installing the Scope4SDK setup, and trying to start sdk, I get this

Before that, I had to import the registry keys. I picked the allkeys.skf, which I'm using for the regular Scope setup. Maybe this wasn't adequate? Installer said "Import succeed". Hm.
Any idea?

you don`t need the allkeys, you need an sdk key.
contact ralf and sent him the request code.

there should be no need to go that challenge-response way, since if you provide the hardware serial number in your sdk request (and you have to) they already know the request string, and the code that is provided by cw/sc is already the activation code. you should have received that by email and/or letter. well, unless things changed now that SC has taken over...

ps. and by the way... I don't know if the missing key produces an error message like this, but I would interprete that as "something went wrong with the install". did you check the paths and the referenced file?

well, and what did you expect to grab from the allkeys file? the required key has its special product name, and unless you have a keyfile containing it (maybe you got a prepared one from sc/cw - I didn't), I cannot see a reason why to import that file.
I did not import a file, just pasted the activation key I received by mail into the field that asked for it, and voila.

kylie the problem is that CW/SC just send you a cd containing the sdk.
So as nobody tells you that there has to be an activation key for the sdk you don`t know whats going on.
As it ask for a key, I also tried the allkeys file. Then thsi error occured and I searched the planetz for a cause. And found that you need an activation key.
So I asked Ralf and everything worked fine.
The problem is there is NO hint on the CD that you need one.
And this project error occurs after giving a wrong key like the allkeys file.

uh, did they? I never received one. I was just provided data to download it (via email), a written letter from wolf roth, containing the same information as well as an activation key, and this was clearly mentioned in the letter and the email.
(well I asked wolf if they received my NDA at all, and he said "yeah, all fine, it's on the way to you, but here is the necessary information in advance"
I didn't have an idea that the procedure could have been different for you, especially since roy obviously got his SDK just recently. mine is from march...
The problem is there is NO hint on the CD that you need one.
and I had no hint there was a CD...

ok I've sent Ralf the request string, and two hours later got mail with the activation key. Now that's what I call support!

Yes, I think this could have been done better...
Anyway, sdk is working now. Thanks markus, hifi, and (of course) Ralf!

hah, thats really funny.
But that seems to be the problem....
If I would have had an instruction about key activation, this would havé been much easier.
hehe

well, at least it's sorted out for roy now
maybe the letter I received was much more helpful than the naked cd, but then, what's the forum for?
