The New North America ?
The New North America ?
I am feeling so good about this. I use to hate Canadians cause they kicked my ass year after year in Hockey when I was a kid, but have come to know many of my northern brothers through music, and the trades unions, and know them to be productive, educated, and considerate people. My southern brothers of Mexico are also family orientated, extremely hard working good people as well.
Politicians from these three neighbors are currently discussing the possibilities of such an agreement. I for one think that it should at least be discussed in such a forum, and wonder what it could lead to? It could only benefit people IMHO. Each Mexican, American, and Canadian state could retain it's own state laws, and be part of a giant North America. This is fascinating to me. As I would gladly welcome it.
As long as Nevada still has prostitution, and legal gambling, it's cool with me.
What A Nice Thought,

I agree with GaryB. Admirable sentiment. But be careful what you wish for. The less centralized things are, the less control one person/party can have.
For me, it's a PITA that the border is there, LOTS of good, self-motivated musicians are in Maine it seems, and I'm stuck in New Brunswick with non achievers. (You think MY music tastes are old fashioned

It would mean the end of the Canadian health care system.
Mexico is a very different country from Canada, I cannot see how you could harmonize all the rules between the three countries. I guess that's what politicians are for...
IMO Canada would be better off joining the EU. That would make me very happy.

That link scares me,
He must be right about several topics. The media is used by very influential people, and they want to smear him as a racist. First that tells me he has won his arguments in public somewhere. When no intelligent debate can be continued, and peolpe start the smearing process, that's when they have no answers left, but only tactics.

I enjoy hearing all opinions.
I am too much of an optimist at times. But I am one of those guys who meets many international travelers, and I always enjoy their company. It often makes me wonder how nice things would be if the forces to be would allow expanded borders as in our forum for instance.
Borders, Religion, Race, and others are catagories I tend to forget, but am often reminded of when I get a good dose of Global Media.
I meet foriegners every week in a nice enviroment, instead of less pleasants scenarios.
Our forum is an example of help, advise, friendship, business, and sometimes slight disagreements, but the word forum,...Would a government with such a name be a nice change?
At the end of the day, I shall retreat to my SFP cubicle and be glad I can forgot the bad.
There's another example of our great platform and forum.

Well, Well.
I was raised in trusting whatever happens, is the will of God. It was a great teaching in faith, and I have succeeded, but in what?
Trickle down economics was my last charge of American pride. I do beleive bringing down the iron fist above Europe was a noble cause. America has done so many bad / good things. Then came 911, and Afghanistan. I still believed that was a just cause. But being a Union Iron Worker since 1974, a redneck synth player, a rare breed, but my CS-80, and much of my other equipment was bought by me !! Not the record company, as Jeff Porcaro ( Toto), had a Yamaha sponsor. I was proud to say I have earned my gear, through music, and hard work. But the photos I neglected to view for so long have now alrmed me in a most frightening way my friends. These are such confusing times, I am thankful for my synths 4 escape. I had never noticed these pics of structured steel burnt @ an angle. This is either a farce in Photoshop ( hubird) or something I am very scared about all of a sudden. My father retired as a professional NFL football player to raise 3 sons of bitches who would die for their flag. I wonder where I went wrong. I would still die for my ancestors and their just cause, but trust me. If these pictures are real, my sons wounds are a testament to a falsehood. I KNOW 4 a fact, that the steel we use in our structures, is scrap, sold to a Japanes Co. that sits off our western coast, and resells it to us. A smart recycling process for a good allie. But I have lived in Nevada since 1983, and have seen all of my former stages be demolished every year. Some say it's bad, but then again I am an optimist and have more gigs than ever, allbeit suck ass shit 4 cash $$$. But after witnessing 7 implosions done w/ precision accuracy, I have to admit the 911 tower that fell last, was an impeccable feat to say the least. Pictures show angles on the steel, which is very geometric for a superheated implosion, but our steel we re purchase needs to be heated to an extreme degree to collapse so professionally. Surely they could not have thought an average steel man would not notice, much less a steel man who has witnessed several such implosions. I signed a " patriotic petition from local 417 " to have all our steel mixed w/ a higher % of Chromium which would not melt until it reaches 10000 degrees farenheit !! Of course I agreed. But something is not right here. And I feel somewhat ashamed and mislead. I will not even attempt to discuss this with my son.
I can't believe this is possible? I refuse to think that GWB had this planned. But who couldn't forget when the Prince from Saudi Arabia handed Gulianni a check for 20,000,000 dollars, and he tore it up? These are at least great theatrics.
I feel shame so I am going back to Scope.

Sorry, I don't see any difference compared with the current state. We all have our own laws and are part of a giant North America.scope4live wrote:

What pictures show angled cuts?
When I was living in Texas there was a lot of glossing over of what was really behind the Nafta trade agreements. The companies driving this aren't interested in integrating cultures and various laws, just in assuring the flow of the lowest cost goods with the cheapest shipping possible. It was obvious then (and is more so now) that it was a way to bypass slow-downs at US-based ports and avoid the unions involved in stateside shipping (truckers etc). US customers demand the cheapest shit possible, and by god we'll make sure it's the cheapest shit possible, right?
All of the trade agreements that have been tacked on since then simply build on this initial premise.
