Midi link 2 pc with scope without midi wires: possible ?

Hello,
A friend wants to get a second pc and 2nd scope card. He asked me how to link the midi of the 2 scopes: his problem is that his current scope doesn't have the midi hardware wires (i think it doesn't work well anymore).
I have found stuff like IPMidi that allow to use just a network cables to link 2 pcs, and I guess it would work with something like midi Ox on the 2nd pc ? (and i think it is better than usb or else because it doesn't need to buy extra interface).

If someone is doing something like that: does it work? is it complicated to understand or logical and easy ?

his setup is something like a master pc for sequencer and scope mixing and another for a sampler+scope mixing (not sure which sampler; could be reason, kontakt or giga or something else), all audio linked with adat direct from scope to scope.

Will it work without headaches ?

Thnks in advance for your valuable experiences.

I use miditrix for midi over network. It is freeware and has a virtual patchbay inside.

i've downloaded the miditrix too. i haven't tried to set it up for ip nework yet (not sure they talk about computer network or midi network, other wise, may be it works with wifi :-)
i'll forward the other links too (looks all good)
