WHO is John Amolof ?
WHO is John Amolof ?
No April Fools day prank, you can see for yourself that the Creamware ftp site now includes a new folder:
ftp://ftp.creamware.de/Software/Scope_f ... ohnAmolof/
the question is who is John and what are these devices?

Yes, it appears there are 3 new synth devices. I had a quick peek at them during Messe. I don't know who he is, but it would appear John Amolov understands how to use the SDK pretty well.
There's still some issues with these devices, as they are not quite ready for 'prime time' I was told, but it's exciting to see a new developer come along!
cheers,
john b

Yeh the second one down reminds me of the nova desktop.Tau wrote:They look great! I had seen the files before, but had no idea of what they were... Nice to see a multitimbral synth in here, could be very useful to load many sounds in one preset... kind of Novation-looking, too...
I like the design too. Thanks Harmany.
well, I have Vectron, Celmo's PPGhost and Bluewave, Zarg's QWave and Wavelenth Avalon - which all focus on the same Waldorf wavetable oscillators - and they all sound completely different.
The most stunning (difference) is between the 2 Celmo synths, as it's even the same developer
I originally didn't want to buy the QWave, as I thought the Solaris WT oscillators would be more or less identical. Wrong - when I listened to some QWave demo sounds, the thing was sold on me immediately.
'standard' and 'stock' are rather negative attributes, I bet noone (except a professional sound designer) can afford the time to explore even 25% of the possibilities (for example) the software Solaris offers.
That's why people want new devices and presets, presets, presets
I only heard a few short sequences from those new devices - and it was very difficult with all the noise around on Messe, but what arrived at my ear did sound very, very good
cheers, Tom

how
how do you install these thingies, and how do you get the dsp files?
I WANT THEM I WANT THEM!

i am intrested to know as well... always wondered how much of the synths is just patching of things we (mostly) have in modular, or unique synthesis ideas.hifiboom wrote:I`m really interested if they have Analog circuit modeled filters in them , like Minimax or Prodyssey....
but I`m sure its more or less the standard CW ones from how it looks like...

CW call their high-end stuff in their manuals as analog circuit modelling, claiming that the synths sound the same as their analog counterparts when setting the knobs/faders at the same setting.faxinadu wrote:i am intrested to know as well... always wondered how much of the synths is just patching of things we (mostly) have in modular, or unique synthesis ideas.hifiboom wrote:I`m really interested if they have Analog circuit modeled filters in them , like Minimax or Prodyssey....

I think this only applies to Prodyssey (awsome filter), Minimax and maybe the Pro-12 ( i don`t know )
On the fx side its Vinco Compressor. They all sound impressivly good.
all the other devices from what I know were not constructed with this background... although they sound good too.
I`m not sure but these three devices do not look like exact 1:1 copys of real stuff...
I`m sure they have the same architecture, but maybe not an 1:1 sound of the original synth...
Although I think the Nord emulation will sound relative close to the real thing as the nord modular atoms have a similar sound to the creamware stuff.
The advantage with the CW stuff is that all the modules are of very high quality, so even mod patches and self constructed synth without special engineering sound very good, too.
