I made some requests to DAS concerning their mixer and took the advice of my FOH engineer in some minor GUI changes, and a talkback feature sent directly to the IE buss.
The production has had stellar reviews, and every FOH guy in town wants the gig now. It appears as though they care little about the perdium and salary, and are more interested in the experience of using a software based console w/ wireless mics, and ear monitors, plus the trim factor I'm sure has it's benefits also.
The M Audio KS88 has been the control surface as it has toggle buttons, AUX knobs, and 9 x sliders, which are the most used controllers. This will change w/ the custom made surface from www.ucapps.de will be made.
The talk back channel is being implemented and is sent to the InEar buss. Since the singers / dancers sound like cackling hens, the sliders on the mains must be muted also. This show has become quite the sucsessful experiment for SFP and choroegraphed live performances.
DAS needs no introduction here. So all I can say is if you want to use Scope 4 live performance ala PA and monitoring, this is the mixer to use. It can be used w/ 1 x 6 DSP Type II card, but the way we like to load them up, it's best it have a SRB sitting alongside of it.
