VDAT Crash Caused Drive Letter Switch

Post by braincell »

I was using VDAT when my computer crashed hard. When I tried to reboot, I noticed the drives C: and D: had switched letters. I manually switched the cable and all seems fine. WTF happened???

Since this incident my computer is working much better. It used to crash several times during a session and now it never does. I also used to get an error message when shutting down Cubase and I no longer get that message. That was one crash that was a good thing!

what do we learn from that....?
Creamware VDAT improves your system performance and raises stability.

As you are about Pc tips here, there is another great tip. Defrag your harddrive may give some serious speedup. Normal its done with software, but the pros do the "hardware defragmentaion" for full speedup.

the guide is over there:

So, braincell - your headline more than indicates, that VDAT was causing this crash. CAn you back that up, or is it just a random shot being posted to the rest of the potential user base?

The VDAT is very CPU intensive. I started the VDAT, it ran for a while then I got the blue screen of death. No other software was giving me the blue screen of death. I had seen this before, always when running VDAT. I also had been getting a crackle once in a while in VDAT or VDAT would stop and give some error message.

I am happy to report that VDAT works fine now that it fixed my computer.
