I'm putting a new machine together and have seen a lot of good comments about the D965 mobos so I decided to go with either the DG965RY or DP965LT.
I'm concerned with the compatibility of the memory. I read some reviews on newegg about people having issues getting memory to work with similar mobos, namely the DG965WH, as well as some others.
Here's what I was looking at:
mushkin (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800, 1.8V, Model #: 996527
--- the mushkin's work with the DG965WH mobo
CORSAIR XMS2 (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800, 1.9V, Model TWIN2X2048-6400
--- i would suspect problems with these
Are there compatability issues with memory voltage and the D965 mobos?
Does anyone have any other suggestions / tips / words of advice?
Thanks,
Bill
Memory for DG965RY or similar?
The base speed of 266 MHz is quad pumped, this means 1067 MHz actually. The memory controller in the 965 chipset was made w/ the new memory controller, where as the BAD AXE 975 series, has to be upgraded, as in the new BAD AXE II from Intel. @ any rate Corasair is HQ RAM. Take a look @ the Dominator series that's made for the Core 2 Duo Chipsets. I use slow, stable memory in my DAW's. But the next time I upgrade, I am going 4 the faster speeds, as I have seen the benefits that it offers w/ VSTl's, and VST FX.
