semi-finalist in the 2006 International Songwriting Competit

Hello to all,
I entered a few songs (3) in the International song competition 2006
( Instrumentl Category) and all 3 went to the next round out of 14,000 songs.

A received an email this week stating that 1 of my songs "Samba Funk" has gone to the semi-finals.

Dear Yiannis,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected as a semi-finalist in the 2006 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) for the song "Samba Funk" in the Instrumental category. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement! The selection process this year was an extremely challenging, yet enjoyable one due to the many excellent entries received. Please read all of the following information thoroughly.

The 2006 finalists will be selected from the group of semi-finalists and announced on February 1, 2007. You will receive notification by email, and all semi-finalists and finalists will be posted on our website on February 1. The finalists' songs will then be sent to the ISC judges who will select the winners. Winners will be announced in March 2007, as soon as the judging process is complete. All entrants will receive email notification of the winners. Please check our website for all updates:

Hey well done. Must feel very gratifiying! Aside from the fame and kudos of winning or being runners up, do they offer any prizes I wonder?

Thanks for the repleis.
I did not make it to the next round but I'm still very happy that I made it this far.
Out of 14,000 songs I made it to the last 20. :)

I'll try again next year.
Plus there are alot of other competitions to enter that I might enter some songs.

Yes there was prizes , alot of gear and help to get an artist going.
