Hey all,
I just found out I'll be mixing a rock'n'roll project using SX and SFP sooner than I thought. I've been reading the manual and working with the 'fancier' Scope mixers and they are quite nice. However, I'm wondering what people here do to including native f/x with a Scope mix. Do you just do all the native f/x before routing tracks to the Scope mixer? I think it's possible in theory to route back to a stereo input track via ASIO and an aux f/x then compensate for latency on the other tracks. Do people do that? Are there other more creative things I'm not thinking of?
Or, generally, are the 'best practices' for mixing a fairly traditional rock band type project in SFP?
Thanks very much,
TCB
SFP and native f/x for mixing
yes, to all your questions.
tracks can be routed both ways through asio, but i don't find that nessessary for the most part. most of the time, native happens "upstream" of scope. if i really want to use a native bussed effect(for example, reverb or delay), then i'll give that bus it's own asio channel out of sx. otherwise, all tracks go into scope via their own asio channels(for mixing only. during tracking, it's way simpler to just use a single master left/right out of cubase).
