I just upgraded to Windows XP
but still have the original Pulsar card
I've installed the Scope 4.0 upgrade
but am now having some kind of hardware conflict
It looks something like this:
SDRAM error x000010 is being read as x000000
I've installed the newest version of Adaptec ASPI and it's working fine
According to my device manager, the Creamware card has drivers and is functioning properly
However, the Scope software won't open 80% of the time and doesn't seem to be communicating with the card
At one point when it was open, I tried to load an example project, and I was prompted to find several devices, so I tried to load an old project and the computer just went DEAD
Does anyone have any clues on how to resolve this conflict??
I imagine I'll be fighting with it for a couple of days, but it would be great if I had some idea of what the heck the problem is...
Thanks in Advance
Upgrading to 4.0 but with old card -- HELP!!
shutdown your system, unplug the wall outlet (!), do a couple of 'fake switches' with the powersupply's switch, leaving it in the 'off' position.
Then open the box and lift the Pulsar from it's slot and put it back in, paying attention that it's seated firmly
lock all screws, close the box and startup again.
The error will be gone, hopefully...
otherwise (I assume it's an SFP error related to the 2 SDRams on the card) it's a bit more tricky...
cheers, Tom
the afforementioned 'global-reset-black-magic-routine' fixes a lot of false hardware alarms, so cross fingers
