Is there a device that will give crossfeed to the stereo master outs,that would emulate what monitors feed to our ears?

Would like this because I do most of my mixing on headphones.

Could this be made using a small mixer fed by two copies of the master L/R to 4 channels? Then you could control the amount of crossfeed. That's an interesting idea.

Perhaps my small modular patch will do the trick (see modular patches)

I've requested such a device myself. I am using the VNoPhones VST-plugin when I do stuff in XTC-mode, but would like something like this for the SFP environment aswell.

I guess a StereoExpander + reverb (STW Ambience Lite??) could emulate the bi-neural haas-effect, although a bit DSP/PCI-nagging.

imho the STW Ambience reverbs alter the signal a bit too much to improve monitoring. They usually 'create' something entirely new ... not always, but surprisingly often in very pleasing way.
I currently have them behind an old Boss 12bit/32k device (RRV-10) which is set to hall or multi-tap.

Well, that's a great point actually since there are several brands of headphones who make models with this addressed in the headphone technology. The one we have are the Ultrasone HFI-2000, which are a headphone that you definately can't wear back to front. There's models by other pro headphone manufacturers too, so worth having a listen to some if you can. I was a bit sceptical when we got the ultrasones, but after hearing them I was very impressed.

Koss make a model called the 'phase' series I think.

I found (for my personal taste) the AKG x01 series a good subsitute for speakers, and would prefer them even over the 'classic' Studio/Monitor line for their more open (and relaxed) soundfield.
I'm used to an (old) 301 and normally wouldn't resist Thomann's -35% offer for the 701 ...if I only could get rid of the suspect that the high price thingy is just a fancy repack of the same base driver...
A Sennheiser 280 is for sure more revealing in details (and just half the price) than those AKGs with their kind of 'soundstage sorting', but also more fatiguing.
I got a Sennheiser 215 recently to have a better control (specifically) for bass guitar, but I already find myself putting it away in favour of the AKG.
But setup of the cans with delayed channel separated signals might be an interesting experience independant from choice of brands...
