Simple multiband compressor

I find myself wishing for multiband (3 band) compressor with a usable interface and acceptably low DSP usage. I can do this manually by using two crossover plugins (one nested inside the other) and 3 compressors, but the interface is a nuisance to navigate. Look at the way Cubase's multiband compressor works - you can just click and drag the points until it sounds 'right'. How difficult is implementing this kind of graphic interface?

I remember there was a free multi comp called finaliza, and while I'm sure it has its specific uses, I don't use it. It's classical knob interface though, with no dragging. You're talking about dragging threshold and ratios on a knee graph right?

or am I missing something?

(1) Interface (optimaster has all these settings but you have to flip from screen to screen)
(2) DSP usage (optimaster has a lot more than 3 compressors)

jeezzz...wish I had your problems :-D
About one DSP for the Optimaster...
You need extra DSP I would say :-)
Optimaster does in fact (almost exactly) what you're asking for, and even more (Learnfunction, Limiter, Normalizing).
But who am I? :-)

You could bypass limit + normalise + expand in Opti, but i don't think this releases dsp.

Manual states 4 optis fit on 6 dsps.

Here's FinaLiza.

The Optimaster is not a multiband compressor.

the optimaster is a 3 band compressor, so it is multiband.

Finla Liza is great. For my taste my new device MUBA (4band multiband compressor) sounds even better. and it is by far not finished yet. (Needs look ahead, better surface, sampledelaycorrector.... OTHER WISHES?)

btw. Don't use one or more inserts alone, always use the same (has to be low on DSP) device in evrery slot.

so you like the new 4-band version :D ? (Beta 0.2)
Shroomz wants 5 bands too. You only look for numbers, you both! (you both seems to be nice german-english)

Martin

P.S. And yes, I'll do what you want & hope that this all fits on one DSP!!!!!!!
