you'd be the pioneer there. looks like a cheapie....big deal that it has vista-ready audio, you won't be using that audio or vista at this point.

i'd be a lot more comfortable with conroe and an intel chipset, personally. the inteld965ryck is under $125, so price is not an issue.

i don't really know. via and nforce4 chipsets have been universally bad for most audio cards. they're great for video and games however. as to nforce 430 and nforce 570, no tests have been reported.

all these amd boards will probably function, just not as well as they should. i seems pretty foolish to put such a capable and pricey soundcard into a limited resource environment. i know conroe and the 965 and 975 chipsets work nearly flawlessly if set up properly.

amd and nforce3 and amd chipsets were all great also, they're just obsolete(sort of :wink: ) now. perhaps the latesty bios in the newest amd am2 motherboards work properly, you'll just be the guinea pig. if you decide to roll the dice, let us know the result.

that one looks promising. do you hate intel mobos? :lol: i bet the gigabyte is more expensive....ehh, i'll bet the gigabyte would work very well.
