Moving a mobo to a new case

I'm going to move my D865 PERLL mobo from Antec Sonata (I) case to a larger Antec TX1050 SOHO box.
Now the processor cooler I have is the heavy Zalman 7000CU.
Could this be a problem?
Do you think it's possible and safe to move the mobo with Zalman in place?

yes, it's possible. it depends on if any mounting screws are under the cooler(i'm not familiar enough with the shape of that cooler to say). i'd have some arctic silver on hand in case you need to remove the cooler and then remount it later. it's not that big of a deal...

Gary, thank you for your reply
There are 11 mounting screws none of which are too near the processor. The Zalman heatsink is quite large however, so I have to be careful.
I'd rather try to avoid removing the cooler.
The only point that makes me cautious is this text in the Zalman manual: "The specified maximum weight is 450g for an Intel P4 cooler.
The weight of CNPS7000.CU is 773g, so special care should be taken when moving the computer..."

it's just a hint that the 'effective' forces on the construction quadruple with speed if it's accelerated - not by clockrate, but by letting in fall to the ground or move it around to quickly, à la parcel service ...
cheers, Tom

It might be advisable to support the weight of such a heavy cooler while you're removing, handling & refittiing the mobo. You're right to want to do the transplant without removing the cooler if possible, so if you're gonna be able to get it all out in one & drop it straight into the new box, just carefully do it by grabbing the cooler with one hand & the edge of the mobo or whatever with the other. Handling it like that will mean that you're not asking the mobo to take the full weight of the cooler. Better safe than sorry.

Shroomz, thank for your advice.
I'm going to study the task before doing anything, in order to know exactly what I'm doing. As you said, better safe than sorry.
