Which Device to use for an classic octaver effect?

Hi all

I'd like to have a classic octaver effect for bass or guitar. I tried the PitchShifter from the scope standard effects, but it doesn't give me the expected results, it's always kinda out of tune whatever i do.

Is there a device which fits my needs? or am I simply a fool and can't setup the PitchShifter correctly?
