I have worked on an awesome large project with my new DAW 4 SFP and I saved it, however when I took my 8th hour break I went to reload it and voila, the window I never saw said not enough audio channels available? Needless to say, I have taken precautions by saving my work as I went along, presets, routings, etc. But when the project finally loaded up after 5 global optimisation windows all saying different slogans, but the last three said the above slogan. Am I not saving something perhaps, or am I in need of some weed and Jaeger? This set up is so bitchin' I am not angry,...yet. But I hope to use this project Thuursday on my opening night at Hells Gate. 4 Christ's sake I've been in pre production 4 4 months, and really need to use this DAW w/o reloading and such. The DSP meter shows 42 different chips, and the DSP level is only at 65%. I seek your tips.

dunno Jimmy.
this could be related to the type1 cards or heat. if it is a matter of several large devices that take up several dsps such as heavy synths with a lot of voices, the order that they load in can be critical. some processes can't span across multiple dsps without timing problems, hence minimax not working well at 96khz. you may need to make presets for a trouble device and then load the device and then the preset instead of just loading the project complete....just a guess...

heat could also be a factor although that case seemed pretty well ventillated. 45 dsps is a lot of heaters running...

SpaceF said the same thimg. I will go buy a fan today. I was using my fog machine as it had a small fan, but it only turned out to make my rack look awesome.

Mine said the same thing, but only during recording of audio. I'm going to turn up the fans. It's really loud though. I'm also going to check it the cable is tight.

I am experimenting as we speak. At the same time I am hunting 4 2 SRB Type II 15 DSP boards, as they will be needed in my Synth DAW. The 2 Type I cards will be split up for submixing, and FOH / Monitor DAWs to be built in October.

Yeah this is just weird shit. It has been 20 minutes since I started the DAW. It shows the STM1632 w/ no outputs. I chose all Creamware stuff just in case SpaceF's stuff, or Adern's stuff might be unrecognised by Type I cards, and it actually will load their stuff better. Go figure. Well since the DAW was just stared up the heat issue is irrelevant. Since I have a rather large collection of cards now, I will use the 2 Type I cards as boosters in my next couple of DAW's with one of my TypeII 6 DSP cards, and just buy 2 more TypeII 15 DSP cards and 1 more 6 DSP Type II cards, that should fix it. Then I will have an awesome Synth DAW, an FOH / Monitor DAW, a drun Sub-mixer DAW, and well an extra DAW as we all know you can never have enough DSP's. This dream will be completed one way or another. I have no regrets with my purchases, but the Synth DAW is critical as it will earn me a large check till I grow weary of playing with a DJ. I feel like Ed McMahon, or Paul Schaeffer at this gig, the straight guy or sideman, but at 1250 USD cash per week, I will suck ass till my lips hurt. My dogs must be hunters.

Hi... Can you please explain to me what "type I" and "type 2" means ? Is it related to Luna1 and Luna2 versions of boards or (like type 1 and 2) for example ?

type 1 ; boards that were made at the begining (1998/1999)
type 2 : boards that were made later and which have a different pci implementation (if i remember) and allow lower latencies and higher samplerates.

anything capable to less than 13ms latency at 44.1k is a generation (or type) 2 board.
