I always loved the Pentium M Scope XTC box a friend of mine uses. It was absolutely quiet, and overclocked to outperform my P4 3.4EE!! So I watched and waited 4 SSE 3, and dual core Pentium M ( Yonah ). It came out and smokes the AMD X2's, and P4 Extremes. But didn't have a worthy 479 mobo, till now.
AMD FX 62, and Conroe made a good showing in Taiwan recently, and I am happy 4 Intel has a huge surplus of Core Duo T2600's and P4 Netburst CPU's left. Which means a 30-40% price slashing of CPU's. 4 us live guys this is good news, a cheap dual core DAW which can run in a 1U rack w/ VST host, and VSTi's.
As long as I can run this through my 865 Scope DAW's sound card/DSP cards. Does FX Teleport do this, or will I have to go 4U ATX w/ another Scope card? I wish to mix in Scope as it is so easy and the FX are to die 4. I hope this dream machine can be realized
and working before August.

Hi jimmy

I have a similar problem to yours, I built my DAW about a year ago and even though I have used silent psu and fans, is still too noisy for audio, recently, i bought myself a pentium M laptop for £500.00 and is qiuet as a mouse...and powerfull but I have a redundant scope card and are desperate to use it again
(see post above for details). I have been toying with the idea of a mini-itx board and PCI riser in a case suitable for the scope card and booting from a 1GB compact flash card.....mmmm.
Good luck in you quest for a (Quiet) Scope DAW...

The Yonah/AOpen i975xa-YDG appears to be the best performance/price ratio 4 dual core available this fall. I am only speaking of a platform 4 VST/host, not Scope. My Scope is flawless, so non mi tochi paisano.
Does anyone use FX Teleport, or a similar type app as I desribed earlier? I'd love to have a 1U DAW 4 VSTi/host.
