Just My 2 Cents Worth,
I watched since '98 as most studios I frequented were building GigaDAW's, and VST host based DAW's, all aside from the ancient Pro Tools rigs with the external " 1GB " HDD's. 9 out of 10 used the Matrox G450's, or 550's. Both of my DAW's have G450's w/ 32MB's of RAM. I doubt that I will use them on my upcoming DAW this fall, but I have never had a problem with Matrox cards, so I will go again with the Matrox P650 4 dual head, and PCI-e reasons, with 128MB. Don't know if I see a difference or not, but I only have a use 4 2D. My son on the other hand will be busting my balls for a gamer PC this summer, and being a good pop that I am, I will splurge 4 him, for he already likes Scope, and will inherit a 3 x Project card rig for Christmas, all with a new exterior and lot's of blinking lights 4 the modded windows. His call sign until he learns his way around on my DAW's a little better, will be Scope4jive.

Ankyuvarymuch,

i usually use evga nvidia cards. i would get a 256mb card as they are pretty cheap and work great. i wouldn't spend more than about $100, and there are plenty for less. the sapphire and matrox would be great as well.
