i'm considering buying a new PC for my pulsar2 card.

my main interest is a quiet PC with lots of memory. somebody recommended me AMD athon 64 X2 instead of Intel P4 (dual core). has anybody experienced any problems with AMD athlon 64 X2 /pulsar2 card.?? does scope software (and winXP 32b)benefit from 64b AMD processors,
and, which mobo is the best choice. maybe ASUS A8N SLI ??

I've recently updated my system to Athlon 64 and all works ok.
My motherobard is a MSI K8N Neo4 (4 slot pci+3 PCIe).
Go for AMD, it's cheap and very stable with my 2 Pulsar2.
Remember: Nvidia chipset is IMO the best choice for AMD systems
Look for MoBo with a passive Northbridge Heatsink... my MSI has a little fan that seems a great noisy tornado!!!

I've read that Athlon 64 +3500 is better than +3000 & +3200 because his minor heat production.

For a quiet PC I suggest a Zalman CNPS7700AlCu or an Arctic Cooler Freezer 64 pro, a Zalman Hard disk enclosure, a Zalman fanless PSU and a well isolated PC case (ask to google for "quiet pc" and similar phrases)

I recommend Nforce3 board with single-core CPU. While some people have got dual-core systems working with Scope, most people have problems. In my experience single-core is more reliable and cheaper. I also had bad experiences with Nforce4 chipsets - I would avoid.
