I've been using Creamware products with great joy since the early Nineties. Unfortunately I've got to move away from tripleDat to a HD recorder with an onboard video window and multi track XP support for easier post production work. Sure hope the Creamware business plan can include an updated tripleDat down the line, it was way ahead of it's time.

From what I've seen on this form, (thanks to the many great posts)I've ordered the following new system:

Asus P5WD2_E Premium
Intel D950 3.4G
Kingston 1GB DDR2-533 ram(x2)
Samsung 200G S-ATA drives (x2)
Antec TruepowerII 550 EPS12V supply
Matrox P650 PCI-E dual vid
Vantec MRK-200ST SATA mobile rack (x2)
Lian Li ATA mobile drive bay
Zalman CNPS9500 copper cpu fan
HP DVD rom
External LG USB2/1394 DVD/CD burner
Thermaltake VA8000BNS case
XP Pro OEM SP2
I'll start off with installing 1 PulsarII card and see how it goes.

Have a couple of locations running a combination of tripleDat, Tdat16, and PulsarII cards and would like have the option of moving data drives around from the older systems into the Lian Li ATA mobile bay.

I have a wee bit of time to get the shop to change things, if anyone sees a hardware train wreck coming, please let me know

Also, if anyone has a list of BIOS setup tweaks for the P5WD2_E Premium that they could share, it would be greatly appreciated. I assume disabling the 7.1 sound would be a start.

Can I assume the XP setup instructions on musicxp.com are still the best and most valid?

Is it OK to install with Fat32 for back and forth compatability?

I assume no Standard PC but hyperthreading is OK?

Sorry for the long post, thanks in advance for any time you can spare.

Bolide

Thanks Stardust for the FAT32 confirmation, and for the link to that thread, I missed that one. Our older systems are being replaced with RADARs and we'll soon move final projects by DVD.

Yes, Ali from Creamware also pointed out that we don't have to tweak like we did with Win95 and an old P90 to get 16 tracks

The BIOS hints and logical order in that thread were great. I will however use the USB2 drivers for the external DVD burner.

Many thanks,

Craig

yes , not many tweaks needed. big ones are to change power management to "always on", and in control panel/system/advanced/performance, disable most everything except maybe "use backround image" and "common tasks in folders"...
