I purchased an AMD 64 Athlon 3800 during the summer along with a scope project 4.0.

Their's a lot of debating on this forum regarding the top system or best system for music production with the creamware cards.

I was curious since because of school and work I've had little too no time too really use my system or produce. Thus, before I begin I would like too know the issues concerning the AMD 64 Athlon 3800 and different preventive measures if available to avoid them.

So everyone that is knowledgable upon the subject of the various computer systems too purchase in accordance with creamwares cards; discuss your knowledge, so that everyone can know the difference between the systems and more importantly why we should choose one over the other. Based both on knowledge and personal experience.

I'no expert on computers but I do know that when a new technology cokmes out like the dual core processors for example there are quite a few teething problems and possibe compatability issues so as far as new technology is concerned it's best to tread cautiously.

I do know the nForce 4 mainboards are trouble with dual core but the nForce 3 boards are good with dualcore (or so I am led to believe) but they can only access 3.5 GB of RAM if 4 is installed due to something or other.

I was going to get a dual core PC just recently but a family bereavement has put that on hold. It was either nforce 3 or an Asus board but because of the 3.5GB limit on the nF3 mainboard I decided to go with the Asus board with PCI-E. I would have felt more comfortable with going witgh the nF3 due to the fact that it's tried and tested where as the Asus board is newer but I was reassured that everything would be OK because extensive testing had been done on this particular board.
