Request a new device/modular module, and hope that some enterprising developer grants your wish!

Hi, I'm working on a patch wich requires a lot of modules to do the oscillator section of a synth. It's my intention to use more than one of these oscillator in the patch, so I need to replicate that section. The modules I'm using are little on dsp usage but they take enormous space on screen and the interface is becaming quite impossible to use.

I've seen that Spacef has done an host for his oscillators and filters and I wondering if someone could/would do something similar that accepts any standard modular (.dev).

This host could be very handy: more handy interfaces, some parts can be stored like starting point for other modulars making a part of the work done reusable, ecc...

Is it possible? And for free?!?!?

Hi Lima,

Well, it's not possible to make a host that can take Modular modules directly, but I have made some special RD modules which do "host" a specific Modular module (they come in the RD series II set), so it can be done on a custom basis.

I'm also planning to make some bigger "bundles" of oscs for the Modular, probably like you are suggesting, as some customers have asked me for these...but it can't come free! This stuff all takes time, and when making Pulsar/Scope stuff is one's only income, well....

Hi John,
thanks for your reply!

I was refering to a whole mod 3 patch not only for one ore more modules, anyway it's a shame that's not possible to do.

Yes I understand exacly and I think you're right; I'm also curious to see your expansion for the modular could you give some more infos or it's too early?

Actually, at the moment I'm working on a big custom FM project, but I'm also collecting some 'wishes' of my customers who have the Modular, and they are mostly along the lines of incorporating groups of modules within a single module framework, kind of like I thought you were saying. If you (or anyone) has specific requests, you are welcome to send them to me, and when I get to the point of implementing things, I can see how much I can get done.

The other thing is Adern and Flexor v2. I think this is the kind of 'new stuff' that people will be seeking, whereas I'm thinking more of bundling current things in useful ways - so obviously, it can't cost as much as a Flexor v2 package.
