Thinking of recording an EP here on VDAT. It may get some mixing somewhere else, so...can VDAT files be loaded to protools?
Anyone done this?

I've not done it, I don't have PT, but they are just plain WAV files, so if the bitrate is compatibile they can be loaded. 16 and 24 bits are compatible for sure, I don't know 32 fixed, Steinberg apps can't load them but Sound Forge 6/7 can, so it's just up to PT.

Hey Wayne,
Some more thoughts... You cannot import the markers etc, in case you use them, they can be copied over manually.
Additionally, not when only mixing on PT, but for re-arranging or some additional sequencing, this may save some time later: In case you're using a click anyhow, maybe ask one rendered by PT. You can paste that in the VDAT made audio file of some track... In my experience, 112 BPM isn't everywhere the same 112 BPM, but this technique will provide perfect allignment with the PT project later.
