2 * Pulsar II + Sync Plate
AMD XP 3200+
ASUS nForce 2 (NF7 deluxe?)
1GB RAM

Windows XP (no SP)

With one STDM cable, I lose ~20-25% from 4 out of the 12 DSPs with nothing loaded (ie. ~1 DSP in total). With 2 STDM cables, I lose ~20-25% from 8 or 9 of the 12 DSPs with nothing loaded (ie. ~2 DSPs total).

Two pulsars (one II and one XTC), one STDM, one mac, zero problems

Is there anyone with two Pulsar II linked together that are using windows without a problem???

What do creamware know of this problem?

Im going to buy a second hand Pulsar 2 and im thinking of adding a second card for more DSP and Inputs in the future.. But if there is a problem that 20% of the DSP power is wasted then what is the point?

that's as i remember the explanation, astro....

this is a non-issue. it will have nothing to do with whether or not you get better berformance than 6+3+3 by upgrading to 6+6+3. as i said earlier, just having the bigger board will do that as it will cut down on the number of stdm connections needed(less chance of devices being split between boards...) will help in itself.

i run 1 pulsar one and 2 scope srb first model, i use 1 stdm cable and i don't understand the need of 2 or more cables.
Why?

I use two Pulsar II on a Pc with one cable at the moment (for test sake) and was previously running on two stdm cable fine as well.
I've seen a slight decrease in dsp use but I've yet to discover any other benefit... I think I might go back to two.

I have a setup with five connectors (two scope and one p2 connected with two connectors to the others), no probs so far in that regard (on a p4t and previously on a tusl2 and cusl2). The more connectors the less the alert "no more stdm channels available" will occur.
But what exactly is the problem ?

Er, just open the DSP Meter dialog and look at the numbers (click on the % sign to show the % of each DSP chip used).
