HELP! sending a channel out a bus STM 2448
I have a very basic question about the STM 2448 mixer. I have an A16 Ultra. I have a module going in (in 11). I have an effect connected (in 14, out 14). What I want to do is route the module into the effect using the Scope routing window. What I think I need to do is send the channel on the STM 2448 out bus 1 to the input of the A16. But I don't know how to assign channels to busses. After that, the channel that the effect is on is all I need. How can I do this? Thanks!
First thing you should do to simplify things is load an External Effect M module (it's in Effects -> Mono -> Others.) Open the module's dialog and assign it an Input and Output, and rename it to the name of your external effect. Then save it! You will now be able to load it as any other device, which includes loading it as an insert or aux.
Now to answer the rest of your question, you can assign channels to busses by clicking on the lower left "Options" button (on the STM's Master display), and then selecting "Bus-Page" in the upper left.
You could also use an external Aux send/return. Go to the Aux setup Page (same as Bus page, but click on "Rtn-Page" instead.) If you've done the little device trick I described up there, you should be able to load straight it into one of the channels. Otherwise, you can click on the "external" button for any of the Aux channels, and setup an external aux signal path. Like, say you use aux1, the signal will exit the mixer thru the "Aux1" pad at the bottom of the mixer, and it returns thru the "Rt1L"/"Rt1R" inputs. So you would just connect Aux1 with ZLink B Dest 6, and connect ZLink B Source 6 to Rt1L and RT1R (you might be able to make it a mono return by messing around with the Aux setup stuff -- check STM2448 manual for more details.) Mind you, you can also connect the return signal to a normal mixer input also. This can be fun and highly unwholesome (careful about feedback tho =P).
