Hi there,
what's the best motherboard for the use of scope cards with amd 64 (socket 754) processors?
What i mean, is the pci master overflow message that is the real limitation of via chipsets.
Thank You in advance.

I don't know the answer to your question but try to search this subforum for answers regarding 64bit AMD processors. AFAIR there are problems with them. But I could be wrong

hi
after getting monumentally screwed because i didnt listen to my tech guy i have to say the best motherboard for the amd 64 is GIGABYTE K8NS S754/1600 Nforce3 250 AGPx8 3xDDR400 5PCi AC97 SATA ATA133 LAN ATX.

I have that Gigabyte K8NS 754 also and it's been really great. As near as I can figure out, it has 2 PCI buses, one for SATA/USB/etc, and the other for the PCI slots, both connected to some hypertransport gimmick that seems to handle much higher throughput than needed by 2 PCI cards. So my 2 CW cards basically have a whole PCI bus for themselves! I love it. I can load 12-15 reverbs AND record 32 tracks thru ASIO at the same time, no problem. It just flies.
As for VIA, it's not just a PCI limitation issue, just general flakey engineering. If they can't get their PCI stuff right, you have to wonder what else they haven't gotten right either.
