my new config :

p4C800
PIV 3.2ghz prescott
1go RAM
3 pulsar cards
1 scsi card

win XP in standard PC mode

I have plenty of free irq but each pulsar card had their own irq .
I try to manage in the bios but not way .
is there a way to force the 3 board to have the same irq ?
by the way the daw work like a charm so ?

thx

If everything works ok, it shouldn't be necessary to put all cards on the same IRQ, but if you feel like doing it anyway, you can try turning off IRQ Steering in Control Panel -> System Properties -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager -> right click on Computer -> IRQ Steering tab -> untick "Enable IRQ Steering." This way, XP will use the IRQ values you set in the BIOS, instead of ignoring them.

on my old config (i815 and PIII-S 1.2ghz) the 3 boards shared the same irq . if not it was a disaster.

for the new one I disable all the unnecessary thing in the bios (parrallel port ,usb2, firewire ) and installed winxp in pc standard mode . i get plenty of free irq etc .. in the bios I've set up the pci port to share the same irq between the 3 pulsar boards but for any reason it doesn't works .

That IRQ Steering tab is only available in Standard PC mode, it doesn't show up in ACPI. You can't turn it off it you are in ACPI.

I've got 3 CW cards and a SCSI adapter on a P4C800e board. WinXP in ACPI.
CW cards in slots 1,2 & 5. SCSI card in slot 4.
No IRQ porblems.

thx i will try changing the slot.
right now CW cards on slot 2,3,4 and scsi card on slot 5 .
on the bios I set up like this :

pci 1//5 : auto
pci : 5
pci : 5
pci : 5

but in win XP the 3 cards has 3 differrents irq !
first I would avoid the first pci slot since it share an irq with the 5th slot and also because of the proximity with the agp card wich is too hot to my taste .
don't you have any problem with the stdm cable if the card are too far from each others ? the cable is very short !

the only problem I have is when I activate the USB . samplitude stop immediatly soon after i play when using multitrack asio ; since i don't use USB2 externe drive it doesn't bother me too much ... by the way I noticed firewire is far far better for multitrack ( so if required I use firewire port with no problem at all)
so when people ask for mp3 of the session in USB key then I have to reboot and activate usb in bios ..

Is standard mode a good idea for Creamware cards? Does it have any disadvantages like making it harder to install devices etc? I would like to be able to assign IRQ's myself as the ones the OS decided on suck.
