Hi,
i have an Asus P4T-E Mobo for a few years now and run it with P4 1,9GHz. It's allways been a very stable System with no Problems but i would like to have some more processor power now. So i would like to know if the board can handle actual P4 processors with lets say 3.xGHz?
Thanks,
Simon

Thanks for the link, but i wonder if 3,2G is the limit for the RAM bandwidth and not for the processor. Down on the link there is a line "Supports socket 478 Pentium® 4 processors up to 2.4GHz and beyond" and that's why i asked. In my old manual they talked about 2GHz and beyond. And what about the newer 3.4GHz processors, they are also beyond..perhaps even 0.2 more. Do you really think they won't work on the board?
Thanks,
Simon

go to the bios updates and check the revision history to se if current processors are supported. isn't a 3.2ghz fast enough?

Yes, of course it would be enough, that's not my problem(perhaps it's my bad english), but i can't see an exact limitation in the specs on the link posted above or in my manual. Only infos like "more than or above 2.4...". I think the 3.2 what Paul said is the RAM bandwidth limit. And if not i would think where's the difference for the board between handling a 3.2GHz or 3.4GHz? Same technology, same socket...
Don't understand me wrong, i just don't want to buy the wrong stuff. The easiest/safest way might be if there is someone who simply can tell me he is running the same mobo with this or that processor.
Sorry for confusing,
Simon

Pentium 4 @ 3.2Ghz is what I said. You did not ask about RAM bandwidth so I did not answer about that.
Everything you need to know is at that link I gave you above.
