Hi,
I have a Scope Pro board with the ADAT I/O board.
I can't seem to get good quality toslink plugs to fit into the adat sockets, only the cheap ones with thin plugs.
There does not seem to be enough clearance around the plugs so they don't go in the holes deeply enough when the card is in my case.
please advise,
regards,
James

use the cheap ones or cut down the plugs on the expensive ones. afai can see, the difference between the cheap ones and the expensive ones is usually just the jacketing. it IS better to get REAL glass cable, but that should be available in the cheap style. i have the cheap hosa cables and have had zero problems....

I didn't even know there was such a thing as "expensive" TOSlink cables! (The cheap ones seem pretty expensive to me though...)

Hi,
The adat ports on the dspfactory and the RME HDSP9652 cards stick out a bit.
This allows you to plug in any toslink cable.
On the Scope Pro ADAT 24 card the ports are flush with the edge of the card.
So the cheap cables fit in cause the plugs are kind of thinner.
I had to take off one of the metal pieces on the back of my pc case in order to fit in good quality plugs which are too thick to go in the narrow gap.
I think Creamware should make the toslink sockets stick out a few millimeteres.
regards,
James

I just checked the toslink plugs on my Pulsar2, they fit perfectly here...
I'm on mac, but that can't be different from pc, is it?
I once copied a file from minidisk, I remember that it was exiting how simple and flawless it was to import and route everything on a Cubase audio track.
BTW. I used a high quality cable, and it was plug and play.

Maybe you should have a look again at the PCI connection panel, some day.
It IS a matter of precise fitting, that's right for sure.
In an older mac I once had to bend a bit one of the metal stripes to the back, before putting a card in it of course.
And I hate that
So if you ask me, I doubt if the CW card is to blame
