You could try using something like Midi Yoke.
This gives you virtual MIDI cabling inside your PC. '98/ME and NT/2K/XP versions are available.

I know that this works between e.g. stand-alone applications and sequencers, but I do not know whether SFP will recognise its virtual ports as a software interface which you can use inside SFP.
Else, I do not know of any way of doing this.

Isn't there a sequencer that support your interface nativly? because that's what I did. I use Emagic AMT8 and logic 5.5PC. The amt8 ports are recognized in logic, where I can route them to sequencer outputs, which in turn are accessible in scope as sequencer sources.
My solution depends on the ability of the sequencer to route (midi)signals. I don't know what other sequencers can or can't do here.
Cheers,
Rob

Install MIDI-OX
Once installed, go to Options>Midi Devices. Then simply select the input port(s) and output port(s) that you wish to use and all data will be mirrored from all selected in ports to all selected out ports. Quick & easy...
If you choose to do anything more complex (midisport port 1 to cw port 2 etc) you'll have to set up filtering rules.

MIDI-OX does the job, and then some. Thanks guys for the tip. I'm sure the MIDI Loopback would also work from the same company, but the MIDI-OX can do so much more as well. It's ike a Swiss army knife for MIDI. I will do lots of exploring the posibilities later. It's cool to see my Pulsar II board with unused MIDI In/Out cables while I play my MiniMax or B-2003.
I needed the M-Audio MIDISport to replace the SCOPE MIDI interface as it gives me lockups sometimes with my ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe board, especially with GigaStudio.
I hope the USB MIDI will also give stable timing. I haven't seen any tests on USB MIDI devices, but someone on the Nuendo forum likes to let everyone know that he hates USB MIDI and calls it unprofessional.

Hi Royston,
The MIDI input to the SFP synths comes from the Sequencer MIDI In Source. The Pulsar MIDI Source is not used. It works great and I haven't had any lockups or other problems, even with my WX5 windcontroller and keyboard on at the same time. MIDI-OX is brilliant. It speaks and listens from it's drivers to all other drivers like Creamware MIDI 1 and MIDI 2.

Counterparts, Midi Yoke adds a virtual driver...since SFP doesn't poll the OS for any external drivers you would never 'see' Midi Yoke's software drivers in SFP. Midi Yoke is rather for doing things like routing midi from one software application to another. Midi-OX can do a lot of realtime processing of midi (and in this case is forwarding midi from any selected ins to any selected outs). The two can work together as well...(but Midi-Yoke still won't 'show up' in SFP).

So what happened then with the stability and performance issues from the past? I recall an advice as to NOT run yoke or hubi's tool, as stability and performance were compromised. That's why I figured out a way to not have any additional tools, and just use the sequencer and SFP.
Is it safe then?
Cheers,
Rob
