it will work if your power supply is multi voltage and you get the proper ac cable or if you buy a usa power supply.

99% of European computers have switchable voltage, as GaryB mentioned. Check the back of the case, by the power supply. If it's not auto-switching then chances are it has a little switch to change manually between 220 V and 110 V. Then all you need is a standard 3 prong power cord from any N. American hardware store.

Monitors are much more problematic. Check the back, where the power cord is inserted into the monitor. If you have an LCD you may actually have to get another transformer in order to use with American voltages.

If it comes down to it you can just bring your German power cables and buy a large transformer at Radio Shack for ~ $70. I think $70 gives you 300 W (WAY more than enough), could be wrong though. There are cheaper ones, too.

If you go the Radio Shack route you'll also need to bring a power strip with you, to plug multiple devices into the one transformer socket. And you'll need to buy a Radio Shack plug-to-plug converter, to plug your German power strip into the transformer.

Hope this helps!
