hey guys ,

i have an old evolution mk-49 midi keyboard

that i havent used a long time ago ,

now ,when i use it seems that some of the

keys function badly (i have to press hard

to get triggerd) ,ne1 got a solution for

cleaning the keys ?

generally I wouldn't consider it worth the effort (I had one myself years ago) and I don't remember exactly it's interior.
But usually the contacts are rubber mats with carbon like black spots for conducting.
You have to disassembly it and remove those mats, clean the contacts with pure alcohol and then apply some graphite powder to the contacts. Don't use too much - it's a tricky and dirty job if you're careless and never touch the pads with your fingertips. If you happen accidently apply alcohol again :wink:
Then reassemble and you might get some better response, but those contacts aren't intended for servicing actually.

I once did that to a Kawai K4, there was an improvement, but it still didn't reach it's full velocity scale.
You will notice the construction of the MK49 keys. They are just one piece of plastic and can break when played with too much power.

my suggestion would be (2nd hand if budget is an issue) one of the current keyboards with controllers. The additional features make the investment a little easier and prices have dropped significantly for that stuff.
