Hiya,
Recently Imade a minor, but still very effective change to my system. I have a Coolermaster WaveMaster computercase and because of the excellent heat dispersion, it feels pretty warm when I put my hand on it.
I replaced the NOISY factory fit fan+cooler of my Asus nVidia FX5700 videocard for a Zalman heatpipe + extra fan (The 400W powersupply + all fans are Zalman).
Man, this sure makes a difference in ways of noise. When I used the extra fan and an extra Zalman case fan which blows air out of the case, the difference was incredible:
Asus probe, p4c800 deluxe reading:
No case fans case fans
CPU temp 35C 31C
MB temp 35C 30C
Asus nVidia Gforce FX5700 reading:
GPU core temp 57C 41C
Ambient temp 52C 36C
And with the case open, the difference is realy huge, allthough it would be highly unlikely that I'll ever run it this way:
Asus probe, p4c800 deluxe reading:
case open
CPU temp 24C
MB temp 27C
Asus nVidia Gforce FX5700 reading:
GPU core temp 31C
Ambient temp 27C
All readings are done during idle, since my studio is overhauled for a re-design, I couldn't stress the machine.
If you check the picture, then you'll see that the fan used for cooling the video card also cools my PowerSampler, Luna and Pulsar II, this is always a good thing
since that avoids the occasional crash because of overheating.

If you want higher resolution pictures, just replace the 640x480 part of the url with 800x600 or 1600-1200.
regards
Ronald
