hi,
i have an akai mpc 2000 and cubase sx,i want know how you can sync cubase sx with the mpc ( it has 2 midi ins and 2 midi outs)making cubase sx the slave.

syncing cubase sx with an external sequencer
it's pretty easy.i have had problems making an mpc slave to cubase, but to make cubase sync to the mpc, just go to the sync menu in the mpc and select midi time code out.you can also select which midi output, mtc leaves from.
the sync controls for cubase are in the transport menu,i don't remember exactly, but i don't believe you need to do much to recieve mtc or clock, you may need to specify the port it comes in on.
connect the midi cable from the mpc midi out to the cw midi in.connect the midi source to the sequencer midi in in the sfp routing window.enable sync in the cubase transport and push play or record.cubase will be waiting for the mpc to send the "play" command.
it should work from there.you can also connect the midi output of cubase to the mpc and theoretically sync the mpc to cubase(by fiddling with the settings for mtc or clock out of cubase and into the mpc),but i have had no luck there.(worked fine with an alesis mmt8.....)
