Thanks to everyone for their help on my upgrading to XP. Everything installed fine.

Apart from Pulsar II card! So i took the card out and rebooted, put the card in and rebooted. then tried to open SFP 3.1a (as i had been advised) and the packet wouldn't open.

In my system profile it tells me that i have a Pulsar II soundcard working, but i can't get to it? Can any one advise? I am currently downloading 3.1c to see if that works?

thanks again

tried the 3.1c and had a blue screen shut down (didn't think this happened with xp)

firstly, when i tried to install the card i got the message "Not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with xp" i continued anyway.

then the blue screen with the reason for the system stop was:
c0xc0000005, 0xf78392e3, oxf9e98aa0, oxf9e987a0 portcls.sys address f78392e3 base of f782500, datastamp 3b7de1af

what the hell is going on?! i thought this was going to be straight forward.

Pls help!!!

yes first uninstall> reboot then install 3.1c that should work ( donno why you was advised to install 3.1a first, that was before when you first had to upgrade to 3.1b then to 3.1c)

install went fine in terms of the card. but i still can't get 3.1c to work.

it is still in a zip file (xp i assume doesn't unpack the files) i double click on install and it doesn't respond? i then copied the install programme onto the desktop and still nothing??!

First, completely unzip the 3.1C unto a folder on your PC.

After you run the install...

But, even before the install of the software, install the drivers and reboot...

Hi Kalinski

That's a good question - I can't really tell from reading your post.

First, uninstall SFP v.whatever.

Then uninstall the drivers:

control panel->admin tools->computer management->device manager->open 'sound, video & game controllers'->right-click your creamware card, select properties->click the 'driver' tab->choose 'uninstall'

Next, you want to unzip the SFP_v3_1c.zip file to a suitable location. IF you have Modular II, then you'll also need to unzip M2_SFP_v3_1c.zip into the same folder. IF you have Modular III, then you'll need MIII_SFP_v3_1c.zip. These two other .zip files are available from the Creamware website, same page as the main .zip file.

After doing this, run the Install.exe (or possibly Setup.exe) file (can't remember exactly, which). You'll first be prompted to install the drivers. Do this, the computer will restart, and then you can install v3.1c - use your allkeys.skf file from the Creamware website (I take it you have registered your card(s)!) to do this, as it makes things very much easier.

After all that, it should work OK.

HTH,
