I am about to become a Mac user. I will be running OSX and there is "pro audio" involved.

It seems obvious that I need a PowerMac - question is whether I should go for a G4 or a G5. Do I need single or dual?

I know it's impossible for you to answer the question, but as I know more or less nothing about what a 1.25GHz G4 is able to provide, I am happy to see any kinds of comments. Maybe some examples of system configurations running Cubase or similar with rather large projects?

thanks for listening.

If u want to use a Pulsar/scope card in that, the answer is very simple atm:

G4. and OS9. Lots of threads on this one, but it boils down to the fact that you wont b able to use your creamware card in a G5.
