Hi All,

I think I'm pretty much sold on this board for my new system: Intel D875PBZ

Can any of you using this board list your system specs, please? Especially the slots you used for Creamware cards and any other cards like Powercore or UAD-1.

I plan to use the following config:

Intel D875PBZ
Intel P4 3.2GHz, 800MHz
Corsair TWINX1024-3200LLPRO 1GB DDR400
ATI Radeon 9600 XT AGP 8X 128MB DDR
2x Seagate Baracuda ST3120026AS 120GB SATA
1x Sony 48x CDRW
Thermaltake Xaser Silent Purepower480W PSU

1x PowerPulsar
2x UAD-1

FirewireDirect FW400 PCI Card


Again, any input is welcome.

Sounds pretty good to me. Are you having problems? My new 875 PBZ is on order, so until it's installed I can't help.

No problems yet, I'm going to order the parts in a few days. I'm trying to avoid problems by asking what slots and configuration other users have before I start the installation project!

On my 875PBZ mobo, I'm handling the hard drives a little differently. I'm using 7200 RPM IDEs for my C drive and big-file storage drive. The SATA drive is for recording with VDAT and it is a Western Digital Raptor running at 10,000 RPM. It's only 36 Gigs (I can remember when 250 Megs seemed huge ) but that's big enough to hold a lot of 32 bit tracks. Dump 'em to DVD, though, and you can start all over again.

By the way, the SATA port on the Intel may crowd a Scope card in certain slots. Shouldn't cause a problem at all with a Pulsar II or Luna, though (unlike some other brands of mobos - at least judging by the pictures I've seen).

Hi Sinix,

In the bigbox (875PBZ), I've been blessed with a Scope SP and a Pulsar II. Slots 2 and 3, with the syncplate on an unused space (no slot) on the other side of the AGP slot.

In the shortrack (P4T533C), it's a couple of Pulsar 1s in slots 2 and 4 and a Luna 2 in slot 3. The syncplate is mounted as per above.

And, no, I haven't tried them together yet. The shortrack has been a work in progress, where - with the help of a friend - we've managed to convert an AT rackmount case into an ATX-type case. I'm trying to solve fan noise issues before I drill the holes in the home-made aluminum top and seal it up. It may look a little funky, but hey - it's going into a 10 space rack so who will know

Thanks for all the info! I plan to put the PowerPulsar board in either slot 2 or 3, so hopefully this is ok with the SATA connectors.

I'm was originally think about a 2nd UAD-1, but now I'm planning on getting a PowerCore Element card (another big / full PCI card), so hopefully I can squeeze this one in too. At least the UAD-1 is small!

I think the PoCo FW box is too expensive (or possible getting a huge price drop in the near future) and UAD might have another new card in the works, so I'm going to go with the Element.
