I just got my new machine, and was installing windows on it, when I thought.. gee, it would be really easy if there was a tool where I can just copy my old windows on top of my new one. Is there such a tool? Or am I just dreaming?

concerning those tools...

I think "Acronis Migrate Easy" might be the appropriate one. But I have never used it myself....

Why don't u try to use the same hard disk of your old system in the new, first?
I've make that way a different times in the last 4 years.
With XP is a lot simple.U must reinstall the chispset drivers only...all the rest is automatic.
Try like that if your new system isn't stable...type format c: !!!
But first of all try like that...
My XP SP1 is very customized (only 5 services working,XP Lite,No Networks,No Browser etc.)
Rocksolid...no system crashes from months.
Bye.
