I watched "Kill Bill" the other night, and got inspired by the cool retro flavor of the soundtrack.

I guess you have here not supported acpi signs in your songname...

it sure is smoov! It's smooth, but quite emotional too. (cuz of the progression itself) So was this just a preliminary experiment? I assume you're still workin' on it. I like the bass sound alot.
The guitar part is definitely has that ventures feel to it. hehe. I didn't like Kill Bill tho.. sword fighting is cool and all, but it's just too blood and gore for my taste. My gf was very upset about it too. The music is really funny. Alot of it is reminiscent of old Japanese sword fighting TV shows, which Tarantino obviously loves. I mean, at the snow scene, you can even hear some Japanese "enka" (traditional singing) that is often used in the sword fighting TV shows. These shows are called "chambara" by the way.

Thanks Ken. I appreciate the listen. Yeah...it's a work in progress....I am working on vocals for it...and will probably post a more complete version when I have some time to work the vox recording a bit.
I'll tell you what I like about Kill Bill....the fact that it was so absolutely cliche that it seemed fresh. Mr. T has an ability to take something old and present it in a way that is still appealing. The movie itself teetered on the edge of being a farce....yet I still truly enjoyed it.
...I just got pissed at the ending! What a sham. Oh well.

You know? Just a suggestion, it is perhaps my taste only, I don't know, but I would love to hear a deep B3 in a given moment, sort of going into a chorus part.
I would like the guitar with slightly more dirt perhaps. Cheers.

I gave it another listening kamurah.
I like it very much, that's why I would like to do some suggestions.
I posted this song again here after having done some eq-ing.
I blow up the low part and applied a Vintage Warmer.
This way the sound gets as easy as the atmosphere is, at least to me
At the same time together with a few other tricks, it can move the song away a bit from the band/guitar type of style.
You could try to give it a modern sound by treating it as a triphop or NU Jazz or whatever name you prefer type of production.
Some tricks with the beat, like manupilating slices taken from it, fasing the hihats, time or pitch tricks, you know, just to electricify it a bit.
I think it's easier to sell a loungy song nicely inbedded in a easy music mix cd than a band guitar song on his own.
In the last case you need to arrange it as a real pop ('MTV') song, it must perfectly fit 'that' format.
