Hello All,

As some Of you know I bought a new system about a month ago and it's function right now is as an expensive footrest. I just haven't been able to get it going. I have no idea where the problem lies. I suspect the motherboard (an ASUS P4P 800 Deluxe). I have tried different configurations (ACPI Mode and Standard PC Mode). I have had more luck with standard PC mode where there at least I can get audio into my Pulsars and Logic will work, whereas with ACPI mode nothing! So what does that imply? This is getting too ridiculous for words!!! I have a so called powerhouse sytem but my Dell 450 outperforms it any day.
As I said, I don't know where the problem lies. I suspect the motherboard. I have read a review in the September issue of PC Format where they said it was rubbish. That it is unstable and prone to crashes. On the otherhand I have also read very good reviews. So make your own conclusions. Can anyone recommend a different motherboard that will support dual head RAM.
Help!!!

Thanks in advance for your responses

Some one please help!!!! To repeat in Standard PC mode I can get Audio but not Midi. If it is any help when I launch Logic I get a message saying:

While trying to open MIDIport "CreamwareIn/Out1" in function "midilnOpen", the error, "there is no driverinstalled in your system occured" Make sure that the midi interface is connected and switched on. I also get the same message a second time but this time saying it about Creamware In/Out2
I have installed the software so how can I not have installed the drivers? The drivers show up in my Device Manager.

I am at a loss and don't know what to do.

apologies if this is an obvious question but have you wired up the seq midi source and dest modules in your project? The only time I've seen that error is when I forgot to patch those in.

peace

Hi Wierdo, ............have you tried pulling everything out except one hard-drive and CD-rom, doing a fresh install of XP, then fitting just one Creamware card, and doing the driver then sequencer install? (then SFP) I can't be much more help than that, 'cept to empathise with your frustration...........

Good vibes
