I'd like to know how many of you work virtualy only using dsp power and how many of you always record your synths to audio tracks.
And if you do both, do you hear a difference between virtual and Audio at 44.1 24 bit particulary in Logic Audio?

I always record my Pulsar synths to audio in Logic. Keeps the computer running better that way( for me anyways).
I haven't tried anything else but 16 bit 44.1 so I can't say anything about that.

yep, always used to render the synth (vsti) parts to audio tracks, and now i have my creamware card i record them in (to audio tracks).. helps to stop the pc from falling over

However do you hear a difference between virtual and audio in Cubase or Logic be it 16 or 24 bit?

yes to a degree. dont here any diferance realy when i record them in cos mine is all in 24 bit, BUT the song can sound a bit flat and dull once it goes to cd (16 bit) , but after the song gets masterd, it can sound good again. thats what usaly happens here anyway .

Maybe I'm not clear so here goes again......
I want to know if you here a difference when you play the virtual synth from your keyboard and when you listen to the same synth recorded from your hardisk.
Is there a loss in quality? Is it better sounding etc. to your ears?

nope, no loss in quality at all... sound the same played from my keyboard as it does recorded into and played back from a cubase audio track.
my old setup was to record my hardware synths into cubase, ant that played back did sound alot duller, witch was to do with my soundcard, but since geting the creamware card, no diferance wether i record hardware or the softsynths... so no is the ansure

Yea ok........ I have 12 DSP's so I wanted to see if anyone heard a difference as I always record virtual.
But today I decided to go audio and I did not hear a difference.

i think virtual sounds a LITTLE better,but recording those tracks is the right thing to do in my mind.
