Hi,
i want to buy a new music pc for my pulsar 2
(maybe + one Scope).
My question is :is anybody outthere who can
run the Pulsar on 96hz and can also use the 32 bit Asiodriver withput problems like the
lethal "PCI Masteroverflow" ?
I heard that the bus is not faster today. The hole machines are getting faster but the busbandwidth is the same .
When "you" can do it ,what is your system?
Thanks

3GIO (PCI Express) will replace PCI and AGP 8x soon (Intel will include support for 3GIO from 2004; they hope )

But will our equipement support it?

My advice is to go for a ASUS P4 PC
I would suggest a large Aluminium Case for best cooling, and a quiet powersupply.
When using DSP card(s) I dont think the difference in a P4 2Mhz and a 3Mhz is very significance. Most of the differece can be made up for with RAM (correct me if I'm wrong)

I have a (homemade) ASUS P4PE - P4 2,4 Mhz
WINXP PC, 512MB RAM, Matrox 450 and S-ATA disc. I use 44,1 / 32 bit (so far), but my PC is only 3hours short of running steady for 3 WEEKS now. It is quiet, and i love that box:-).
I guess 96Mhz will be used as soon as i can burn 5.1 dvd's from my prosjects (soon i hope )

Hi,
can you make a recording by 96 Mhz/32 Bit?
Tell me if it works please.Maybe put some Masterverb on.
I want to go with P4P 800/DDR 400 but i dont
want to have the surprize that the Pulsar 2
will eat the Pci bus and my money.
I apreciate in advance.

i just setup a test project with
2 ASIO 32 Source 64 inn (and Z-link source for my guitar)
2 ASIO 2 Dest 64 and a Analog dest to speakers
I record 3 * 30sec stereo track, no problems
Each track is 96MHz / 32 bit stereo Broadcast wave - about 22-23 MB in size

Enjoy this, I changed settings and project without need to restart, and SFP has been running steady for 21day 17hour now
.... hope this is the "answer" you want

Hi firubbi
I play el guitar thru a V-Amp (Behringer)
into my Luna 24/96. So yes, the luna box is a A/D converter, but i could do the same straight into the card (I think)and used cards converters
