just to tell something: activation keys automatic system is not functioning, same probs as some of us have, i've installed the driver.. is the same as the old 3.1c.. 1.50.13, with the known probs with win xp. stuttering, strange behaviour with 24 bit devices, etc etc. it's a great update!! nothing is changed. ah yes... it's a new look... with compliments to creamware reloaded! maybe i buy an m audio firewire card...

is cheaper and ready to use without bugs. incredible that we have not one good driver from a lot of years. or we must use windows 98???

I will have to agree that releasing a new version without even addressing some basic issues (such as drivers) is just not right.
Over 100mb download and the hassles of new keys and installing seems to not be worth what is new in this package. It's really starting to feel like it is just a marketing ploy - at the expense of current users (wasting our time with a huge download and process - and erroding our confidence in the company).
I am very dissapointed in the approach being taken and can say that it definitely deflates my confidence in Creaware Audio.
I hope they do sell more cards and it works for them - but at this point, it seems like they are really risking their current users.
A half-price plugin is a nice offer, but come on, the rest of this update is just ridiculous!

I've registered two of my boards at different times, and it worked both times. Hmmm....
By the way, I've found at least two changes in the new software: you no longer have to enter in project titles manually in the gray bar (it's automatic), and the Scope software no longer loads on startup!!
The first thing is good, and the second thing is bad...

So you've installed the new driver with the old software and you expect it to work better?....Come on man, is this complaint for real?

Plato, you ve misunderstood what the guy is saying! He is telling that the driver in SP4 is exaclty the same with the one in SFP3.1c, with all the problems remaining...

you're right. thank you. the drivers inside sp4 are the same as the ones inside 3.1c. same version and same release date. i've not installed the software because my activation keys are blocked with the common problem. from now i'm not using my machine and i wait for testing sp4.

They should give us the Scope driver source code and maybe we can fix it. I know there is a problem with the StopScope.dll.

I don't think I did misunderstand......surely the point is the way the software interacts with the drivers is different (I hope)....new dsp files etc, so if you haven't installed the new software you obviously won't see any change....well unfortunately I have to wait to test it out since I can't download my key (yet) but until I'm proven wrong I think it's a little early in the day to be whining like this....
an optimist awaits his fate.......

Hey Bingo!
Maybe some of these things will be fixed during the porting project.
We'll see what we can do...
BTW, the drivers do next to nothing (only basic interrupt handling and stuff). What exactly is wrong with the drivers (_not_ Scope)?

Language specification for MAC users:
- For the Help system to be available in the appropriate language you must edit, if necessary, the file CSET.INI (in ..:SCOPE:App:Bin) as follows:
First temporarily rename CSET.INI to CSET.TXT. Look in the file for the section [runpep] under which you will find an entry for ”Language”. Adjust this entry as appropriate (that is, ”Language=Deutsch”, ”Language=English”, ”Language=Francais”). Make sure the path to the manuals is specified correctly.
- Because with the Mac no backup folder is created, the startproject is not automatically used. Before updating your system, make a copy of your start project (..:SCOPE:App:Application:newproject.pro).
- Make sure your MAC OS is adjusted so that the monitor displays 16.7 million colors. Our graphics will not be rendered correctly unless this is adjusted properly.
- Loading Poison and EDS16i can provoke system crashes in XTC mode under Logic 5.0. We are working on that issue to solve this problem as soon as possible.
This come from the "important hints" for Mac Download. Does it mean that Mac has XTC mode??
Any Mac user has tested it??

Well, I'm not sure where the problem lies but one major problem is the handling of the MIDI data. Often, when using external sync, Scope crashes with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, second, when an audio application does something that Scope doesn't like, Scope hangs in the StopScope.dll (don't recal the name of the dll exactly).

If you read this readme carefully you'd have found more things like that (for example Scope Fusion Platform software, things regarding win XP) - they are for PC users, not Maccers. Even in the Mac readme. It was always like that (I mean in older software releases). Even more: on the old CW site there was a knowlwdge database - if you were in Mac>MacOS9 (enough deep to look only for mac hints) you had also PC stuff. So, NO there is no XTC implementation for Mac. Ther reason is Mac/VST can only have one window for a plugin and some of the XTC plugs require more than one window.
Besides, if you read the CWA statement on their dl page - there is NO new thing in the 4.0 software, only minor bugfixes (I found only few files with the modification dates in 2004) and cosmetics. XTC would be a huge new feature (though I don't know if it's any useful for me).
