hehe, that's another way of looking at it, yes :)
But as an almost certain buyer of the new thing (together with laptop), and as a MacOS9 user who won't get a feel of the new v5, I would find it reassuring that SC find Mod3 stable and smooth running enough to show at the Messe... Maybe due to some bug fixes? :D

What was unstable about Mod3? I hardly had any problems with it... :o

Well, I wouldn't call myself an experienced guru modder, but there was a time I was starting to get into it, and the consensus back then was, that the Mod2 shell was far more 'stable', iirc, presets seemed to be the problem.

Yes, Mod III shell has some small bugs in it which make it more frustrating to use. I always stick to Mod2 shell.

Though it would be fantastic if they could update Mod III and fix the bugs with Scope v5!

I had an hour of work deleted because of this bug. Someone on this forum insisted to me that this is not a bug but the way it is intended to work and that it is not a problem so I should just shut up about it. Whatever! It's a bad bug that Creamware pretended didn't exist. As far as I can tell no effort was made to fix it.

Just to clear up a misunderstanding. Sonic Core supports Creamware not to be nice but because they bought the company.

it's your way of formulating your requests that makes us unconfortable. of course you are free to make a challenging statement about any of SC stuff through planetz because they read this board probably because it helps them steer their product development philosophy.. but SC is a young company and creamware is dead. when new users get interested in buying some SC gear, they soon enough find this place. When they see negative energy flowing around they might get scared away and at this point it is a loss for all of us veteran users and devs. can't you feel the love?

Bugs won't get fixed if users are willing to accept them. These companies don't exists to give and get love.

If you want a bug to be accepted as such, then you should clearly state:

* nature of the bug
* circunstances under which it appears
* frequency it appears
* blocking or not (workaround possible)
* workarounds (if any)
* detailed instructions to reproduce it
* any other information you find useful

Cheers

Yes they simply call them "features" dont they :D

It all depends on the severity of the bug and how (often) its reported. Being able
to reproduce it (and I dont mean, wait 2 days and it will freeze....) also helps alot.

And we as a community can help by gathering as much information as
possible.... and keep bugging for bugfixes in a polite way, as a community ?

Seems to me that a company would take it very seriously if a trusted group
of users notifies them of problems which several users have, and provide them
with usable info. It might mean that they dont have to deal with the customer and can just spend time fixing bugs...........

Sure, sure, they "should" hire people todo this...... I dont mind helping them though, I love being involved with this community. And I am sure we can improve upon our relationship with SC!! We will, and already have. influence the future of our platform.

We should start saving then.. Once he'll have SCOPE 5 he'll start whining that his old 3 DSP card should be upgraded for free to an XITE 1, when his motherboard won't have any pci slots anymore :lol:

Oh, come on, that is a well known problem, MIDI just doesn't work:

Considering there are few bugs (as far as I know), you would expect they would have been fixed by now. Some of them such as the midi thing (this is the first I have heard of it) or the s/pdif not working at all after the SFP 2 might be some sort of a conflict with hardware on the user's computer. I don't know.

The Mod 3 shell bug is a universal problem 100% of the time for all users. I don't see how or why they could have released it like that without knowing about it.
