Thanks for the reports guys.

I've been focussing on getting all the file downloads and tags reconverted. I think they look ok now. Let me know.

(Any new file uploads will use the new attachments mechanism). I may go back later and convert the old files into the new attachment paradigm.

I've also seen the mail issue- more importantly as it's affecting new registrations. Trying to figure that out now.

You'll have to be patient with me- i've put in a LOT of hours over the last few days on this. I'm trying to fix high priority stuff first. I'll hopefully get it all sorted out soon :)

Keep posting problem reports here!

Cheers,
-John

Ok, I think the mail thing is sorted out.

For those that don't like the current color scheme, you can always switch your preference in your profile to subSilver, which is the basic default look (black text on white background) - might be preferred by some people!

I already miss the old smilies!
first of all esthetically, the old ones are more icon-like, the new ones have too much expression which in contrast makes them less usefull (and less funny).
Specialy I liked to use the one with the big tooth smile, compare it to this  one, iits equivalent.

I admit, totally irrelevant Image
Hey! Here I see the old one!
when I write the message, i can choose the new ones, but when I read the messages I see the old ones!
Out of curiosity, when I see the preview there's the new and there's the same also in the topic review window.

I agree with Hubird. The new have less expression.
:-)

EDIT: ops, now i can see only the new! I don't understand...

OK! I got it!

When I am not logged in I see the old emoticons.
When I am logged in the new ones.

A bit strange tho...

Mr Arkadin wrote:How come i keep getting emails every time someone replies to this thread? i had to manually disable it in my profile (for some reason it had switched itself on since the upgrade) and i still keep getting these emails.

PS sorry about the size but tthis point size is giving me migraines.
This is one of the really nice features of the new forum. You can "watch" topics, even if you didn't start the topic.

When you reply to a topic, the "Notify me when a reply is posted" is checked by default. I believe you can change that default by setting it in your profile.
In any case, just uncheck it if you don't want it.

And you can always click on the link below the topic display that says "Stop watching this topic". There's also a link in the email you receive to stop watch ing the topic

Cheers,
-John

Thinking of all the guys that are just summing up to the forum, the search engine is fantastic, very fast and precise. It seems to work with some special guessing virtual intelligence. Way cool for newcomers.

In fact, this is the Third Generation update, am I right?

This is great news for all of us, thank you John. I can now send pictures of the local talent here in Las Vegas, and I ain't talkin' 'bout the bands either.

Thanks John - this is a superb resource for all Creamware users and prospective users. We are all benefitting from the time and effort that you have put in to make this thing work.

Cheers!

Hi, John, this could be the best icon for a "hot" tread, instead this strange new white "dot"...
I hope that you like it ;)

Could we perhaps build and replace the icons ourselves? I mean, can you get into the emoticons and change them for other gif images or is it not possible? I just had the crazy idea of sending John quite a few of them if this was possible and John likes the idea. We could add “dedicated” icons like a guy jumping onto a computer in anger, another with a system working flawlessly, another with a new SCOPE card, etc., it could personalize the forum very much, and it could be so fun for us, because it would be our own language.

Don’t take me too seriously John, I just had this crazy idea, but I understand that the upgrade is not yet even finished, so I would understand a straight “no”, don’t worry, but just in case it is possible, that would be great.

I agree that the icons showing the read/new-post status aren't really clear and intuitiv.
Animation of icons is not my favorite, it seems to hurry up me :-)

I mentioned it already, but would it be possible to have the old icons added to the new ones?
(if possible at all in this update version).
cheers.
