righty, right...
and with that attitude you can bet there will never be anything released by them anymore...
they are not charity
they do have a sales statistic
you'll only find bundled what hasn't been sold for a certain period of time
they will have a sales analysis after 4.5 key-generation again
they will see how much potential customers preferred the rock bottom price
these figures will (help to) decide if a continuation of SFP is worth considering
seriously, it's that simple...
cheers, Tom

Well, I've upgraded my PowerPulsar and the new stuff is simply great. Thanks CW for a superb offer. What do you think - is it possible to cancel xmas in favour of some extra studio time?
I still have my Pulsar 2 card though. One wonders if it would be a kind of value-protection to upgrade that one as well to get the SS pack in there...and maybe it would boost the SFP statistics just a little bit more

we probably have different ideas about the 'results' of such a statisticOn 2005-12-18 15:30, devo wrote:

the more people pick a S&S or M&M pack NOW for 98 Euro, the less amount will be invested in (furute) SFP software products...
... for the simple fact that quality is disregarded versus the price.
The content of the packs is among the very best audio processing tools you can buy today - and they were reasonably priced.
If it turns out that (say) 3k extra packs can be sold during this 'special', then the audience doesn't match the quality of the tools.
Their 'next big thing' will share the same fate and remain on the shelf until the next round of rock bottom... but you can bet your a** that there will be none

cheers, tom
3k ? I can't see them selling more than 1k, which will not pay for new developement, only bills & wages at best.
As for the ASB's, well the return on them will be relatively slow & with distribution & retail costs so high, Creamware get shafted from all angles & probably aren't sitting pretty.
I reckon astro's got the picture. Either a new standard is being set for market placement or it's the end of an era.

even if they sell 1000 packs for 98 Euro each, they still miss 300k Euro of market potential that they couldn't activate (for whatever reason).
I somehow still have this 398 figure in mind, though it's currently 598 in the shop, dunno if it's my memory or if I mess something.
anyway, the basic facts remain - not that funny
cheers, tom

300K is a pretty cool sale figure for software,i hope they sell that many. although it's the best, it's aging. look at the price a used pusar2 is going these days..
firewire.
firewire??
aaahhhh a firewire box packed with all current software (and room) would be sooooo sexy!!
shit i'd even by it for 4K

You may be right Tom, but at the same time, I can't help but notice they've been giving away S&S and M&M away since their restructuration, and this pack-for-98-euros deal doesn't apply to everyone, only PowerPulsar/Pulsar2 card owners. I don't know how clever it'd be to base a whole marketing/business strategy on such a statistic, to me it sounds like they just finally (after alot of complaints/comments) give something away to their long-time customers and/or "equalize" what everyone has.
If everyone would have access to this deal, and if it were displayed everywhere on their site and everything, then I'd understand your comments, but this deal seems to be pretty officious and nearly-under-the-table-for-use-PlanetZ people and not market much/at all, so it would make a terrible sale/business metric.
Also I'm not sure what would be the point of bundling a new device for SFP (i.e SBC,) however rushed/incomplete it might be (it sounds fuqn nice as an insert lemme tell ya!!!), I really doubt it'll convince many people to upgrade to 4.5 and it shows they haven't completely abandonned SFP development.
If it were a last-straw effort at trying to sell upgrades/devices before folding, they could have just made that 98 euros full-pack deal available for everyone and net in as much money as possible, no need to add a device or give a new version to the SFP software.
But this is of course all purely speculative on my part =P

It is *very* unfair I have spent over $2,800 on Creamware Hardware and software yet I can not get the upgrade.

Why pulsar I and SRB left out? It just so happens those are the two cards i have in my machine. As a long time user (6years!!) I am feeling a bit left out of the plug-in bonanza here, although must admit 98 euro for even just the pro12 alone is still a decent price for that device. Just seems unfair. I bought the pulsar I full price so long ago, and the SRB just as the Pulsar II was being released. Just my bad luck i suppose...
Tom, You are correct. They would go bankrupt again and not be one of the fortune 500 companies like they are right now.

I've spend at least double of that, now I have upgraded two systems and paid again 2X98euro, and still other boards with the old packs are not upgraded. On 2005-12-21 06:58, braincell wrote:

I'm happy for everybody that benefit the most from the upgrade.
but I also see that people that are big investers in CW products are a bit dissapointed now with CW. why not let the people that have all the other devices allready benefit from this upgrade(the SBC)for free.
c'mon Braincell, that's a lame threat - first there had to be a new Pulsar...
if someone considers 98 Euro for either synth & sampler or mix & master 'finally value for money...' then this is a brainless statement - and if this attitude is significantly spread (which I dunno about), then it's in fact the guarantee that your words will become true...
cheers, Tom

Personally that is the price I will pay and I just did. Like I said before, they can have some money from me or no money.
I am happy now and if these specials come at the time of the birth of Jesus every year I will be filled with more joy. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to Mix n' Master like a pro!

Wat a bargain. The B2003 Is absolutly lovely.
Great service, and a great product.
The Minimax seems to cause a problem with crashing my master outs tho....but nothing a module reload doesnt solve....I hope tho I can stop it doing this
other than that Im delighted with my purchase
