I didn't say over designing, I said designing it over - as in starting over.
hardware is pain in the ass.

That might be a really good sign.. Hopefully it is.

when Thomann added the item to their list for the first time they did it on their own account.
so I would not be surprised if it doesn't mean anything this time as well...

Yeah, and Hans Zimmer has the first 10.

Bloody Lucky Him.
I think 500 might be a slight bit high. 100 would be a great test run.
Thoman's listing is a good sign IMHO.
They wouldn't make the same mistake twice would they?
I mean the first time was because they wanted to be the place to go, or be the first.
Surely they have a little insight this time.

why not we pay advance to sc just to make sure of our copies.
Jimmy why Hans Zimmer is lucky?

Cause he's rich & successful.
It's just a guess, but I think it's safe to assume he will have at least 1 x hardware Solaris, and at least 1 x XITE-1.
It's his fault I am addicted. I heard some recordings he did, and read an interview and other articles about his Gigastudio / Scope DAW's a few years back and had to have at least one DAW like that.

Indeed!
The fact that John can confirm this though is quite promising, I think...

Hey the guy can afford to hire real instruments based on mock ups, and he wants a Solaris and XITE-1. They must sound better than a Motif.

for me it just mean they do all they can for a christmas release

... I think it is worth waiting when possible ... And by now, i don't see any real competitor (external rack gathering converters, huge DSP power and many synth / FX, 2 preamp) so I keep my money at the bank

aaargh. i'm just sick of waiting, sick of reading threads guessing when IT will be released. Nothing is going on, nothing develops, it's still all the same like 2 years ago. ok, i'll stop moaning now, have a nice day, the sun is shining...

i would have said that there was too much new plugins BEFORE the Xite release so we have been acustomed to that. You will never find so much different tools (fx, synth) in any other platform believe me. When considering the time spent by Universal Audio to launch the UAD-2 (which is just a more powerful board) and powercore with their system 6000 (they have kept the same hardware !), i tend to think that a 6 month delay (if they release the Xite in dec-january) is a very short time. And Xite is something new : preamp, express card connection (like apogee), external rack, 10x scope pro power ...
The wait remains mouth-watering to me considering the lack of real competitor

is it possible to combine xite and powercore6000
sorry... what i found at
http://forum.tcelectronic.com/viewtopic.php?id=2335 is no good.
and the flash demo of UAD2 is poor !! is that voice process with uad plugs!!

System 6000 is 3000 euros just for the same powercorex8 hardware + high end plugins. Too expensive for me really

Furthermore, it is mainly for mixing because of latency (not like Scope). And last but not the least : on a laptop you must optimize the firewire/express card use. If you (like me) want 2 external HD ( for Samples /VSL-RMX + audio files) then you already use the 2 FW 400 + FW 800. then you just have the express card for .... the Xite ! That's why I have dropped the powercoreX8 as it uses the FW bandwidth you won't be able to share with an audio interface (it is risky !)
Oh and just check at Thomann guys ... they have changed the availability : http://www.thomann.de/fr/soniccore_xite_1.htm Closer and closer....
Actually it means, that there is an anoucement... from their distributor

that means it will most probably not be found under the christmas tree (unless you extend christmas somewhat).
but might make you miss the beginning of 2009 (because there is no bigger bang

)

I know that this has been mentioned elsewhere, but the current poor performance of the Pound against the Euro means that the XITE-1 will be nearly £400 more expensive for me than it would have been a year ago. Would have cost c.£1970 this time last year, now its £2410. Never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I think that's going to make me seriously consider whether I can go for it. I could probably have justified anything under £2K, but not much more than that. Maybe I'll have to waiit and see if the pound picks up again, or if SC do eventually come up with a scaled down version of the XITE.
But the implications of not getting a XITE-1 are huge for me as it's all tied up with needing to upgrade my ageing PC and needing to decide whether this will need to host my PCI cards any more.
Ah well, that's the way the market goes, I guess. Sorry, just thinking aloud I guess.
