Version 5 works on current cards but they have been selling cards before version 5 for years!

Most customers have no idea about the history of the company and they don't care so that is kind of a lame and esoteric excuse you put out. Along with the assets of Creamware, Sonic Core has to deal with the problems of Creamware because they own it now duh! They can't just say, sorry about the past but we can fix it if you give us hundreds. There has to be some consideration for Creamware customers, otherwise they will bolt. If they don't want a relationship with Creamware customers, fine. It will turn out the same as Creamware did. I promise you.

that kind of customer has already spent his money. he has everything he needs and isn't spending more, so it'll be just fine. it doesn't matter how old the cards are, they're still useful. the product is worth owning whether or not they ever add to it or do bugfixes, it's still useful and it's still the most and best quality gear that can be had for ten times the money. the cards are even useful in an old free computer are a multichannel synth box(ask Jimmy) or a multi i/o effects box. the cards will ALWAYS be a good value because REALK gear is never useless or obsolete. smart customers will see this and be happy, as most users are.

music production is complicated and hard. we don't need McDonalds gear. those masses don't want to go through the trouble of producing quality music anyway.

where do you get that "if they don't want a relationship" b.s. from anyway? I'M a customer and i've had no problem establishing a relationship. you can do the same, but first stop being a drag. no one wants to have a "relationship" with someone who has only negative comments. as the saying goes, you can catch more flies with sugar than ammonia(or similar  ).

Well I agree with that but I would buy another $400 card (like I did last year) if it has PCIe and better DSP chips. It would help if anyone who purchases a card gets to transfer the keys once free for gods sake.

Don't take customers for granted. Maybe they hate us?

"music production is complicated and hard. "

You have no idea how much that sounds like George Bush when he said:
"being the president is a hard job".

So????

maybe they'll make such a product next. the company is very young(a year old). they might even transfer your keys for you if you don't call them names, they've done it before. maybe they'll institute such a plan for everybody. if they don't i don't think it'll be out of spite, however.

see, i don't consider $4000 for the XITE expensive, although i would like to see the Scope cards replaced by a newer card in the same price ranges eventually. maybe next year or following...

Hope so Gary. We have a saying in retail, the customer is always right. To punish me would not make sense. I'm not the only one trust me.

oops, in that case I would have made it more complete and spiced it with a few more big names
but please save the effort - I'm not looking for a job. In fact I'm very happy with my current business :D
...Astro says give them a break because they are a small German company and they have been working hard...
hey, I never wrote that - we don't need breaks over here, let alone due to size of staff
maybe you start a petition that the dudes in Redmond and Palo Alto streamline their api rubbish so people can do their job faster.

cheers, Tom

sorry if it reads ambigous - 'we' was kidding about Germans, I'm not associated with SC in any way

I think most of us want to see cheaper versions like a $400 pcie you mentioned also, and most of us have a long wishlist of features as well. I'm sure many great things will come if SonicCore can generate sales wich is why we should be wishing them well and supporting them the best way we can even if we don't get some or none of the features we want this first round. Also S/C deserves the benifit of a new start and the acknowledgement that they are not Creamware and have only been at the helm for a little over a year. Until that is acknowledged they are'nt treated fairly, and until we let the first round play out before complaining hard then they are'nt treated fairly again.

Yeah, they'll probably do PCI-e eventually - for what it's worth

I would be happy right now to use what I have with better performance. I currently have problems with VDAT and Ambience. A better sampler would be nice but my list is not long.

Sounddesigner, you nailed it and thank you. :)

Also, from the marketing perspective: the Xite-1 flagship product will increase interest in Scope (as it already has).

This will make it easier to market & sell lighter versions. I've seen this tactic work well over the years, in a variety of product categories.

FWIW and cheers,
cap

Crysis demo works. I'm sure it is much better for some people. It's 1.77 gig download and the first download was corrupt. I'm using a cheap PC with 2 gigs RAM and a $35 PCIe graphics card. The game looks incredible considering. I will write a review in off topic in a few days. Like the music; minimal, ambient and not annoying.

If the product does not do, what you want it to, you purchased the wrong product. You have coursed your own unhappiness.
