Agree about 3rd party as well. Character was one of the first plugins on UAD to catch my eye. As for 'innovative'..read what I wrote, I never said anything was wrong with emulating classic gear. Just that they have always used it as their primary selling point, and that I see a lot of people invest heavily in it due to the pedigree that don't actually make much music in the end. Which probably means they have a rather good business model...

Character - its that UAD or Harrison (I think its the latter and/or Metric Halo) ? Well, I make a lot of music for a hobbyist. I've remixed 80 tracks in Harrison / UAD since I get em and the classic sound is the big focus so to me its good that they specialise in that (I have Scope and Reason for the fancy innovative stuff if I want to dabble in EDM occasionally). My business model is real good too - there ain't one - so I don't answer to anyone except my own project/ears

It's from Noveltech. Tbh I don't know if it was ported to UAD's new architecture, it may have been abandoned on that platform when they shifted from their original GPU based format to the modern DSP based architecture they use. And Noveltech Character is now
native in any case.

Well, in any case that should give you some idea as to when I considered UAD due to some of the plugins on offer.

Last century ? I never even knew they had GPU plugins.

The original UAD cards were built on top of a failed GPU. Then they ported to proper DSP systems later on. I used to know what the GPU company was, but it slips my mind these days.

				You found it

Thanks, I was too busy to search at enough depth for it to show up at the time I posted.
